Letter No.32 Rock and Roll to become the Great Sphinx

A statute of Sphinx
at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo

Bubu has almost mastered the art of rolling over.

He first rocks his body left and right to pick up the momentum,

and when he reaches the side position, he uses what little muscles he has to twists his waist and flip!

Often times one of his arms is in an awkward position so he needs to wiggle to stretch it.

When he completes his process and becomes fully flat on his stomach,

he uses his arms to push up his upper body, holding his head up high, with a big smile on his face.

He looks exactly like the Great Sphinx of Giza!

Recently, he started using this roll-over technique

to wake himself up!

When it's still dark outside around 5am,

consciously or unconsciously,

he flips himself to find himself wide awake.

Then he has two choices to make:

One is to put his head down facing a side and fall back to sleep (with a flood of saliva drooling on the floor).

The other is to continue to be awake and start babbling like  "cooaah," "goo-goo," "gaga".

When he makes the choice No.2,

it automatically becomes an alarm clock for daddy.

If I ever leave it as it is,

the alarm will go louder and louder, and in the end it becomes enraged.

Yesterday morning, Bubu seemed to have decided to go for the second choice.

"Oh gosh, the Great Sphinx has risen from his sleep."

Daddy needed to go to the kitchen half-asleep

to prepare for formula 45 minute ahead of the planned schedule.

(Then my actual iPhone alarm went off exactly when I finished feeding him. )

Last week, I called him with his belly-down position a son of "Javva the Hutt" from Star Wars,(https://boobooletter.blogspot.com/2023/06/blog-post_28.html Sorry, it's all Japanese text. For English reader, please use the google translate function at the top of the page. )

but over the past few days,

a small Javva has morphed into the Great Sphinx of Giza with the new alarm function.

Though it's a bid of an awful ordeal for daddy,

truth be told, I also can't wait to celebrate a historic day

when the Great Sphinx takes his first step forward

and crawl his way through to follow daddy around.

Another picture I took at the Egyptian Museum
reminded me of Bubu

...to be continued.
