Letter No.44 Smile

When my mom reads a book I like, I smile.

When I eat rice porridge with pumpkin, I smile.

When my grandpa strugglingly changes my diaper, I smile.

When I secretly try to suck my fingers and my dad finds out, I smile.

When I find myself put on my uncle's belly and flutter like a butterfly, I smile.

When my grandma holds me tight and inject her love deep inside me, I smile.

When my dad comes to my bed and tickles me crazy like I'm a fluffy puppy, I smile.

When my great grandma leans forward toward me reaching out to hold my hand, I smile.

When I am being held on my dad's shoulder and my grandma chases me from behind, I smile.

When one of my aunts wipes my face with cold wet towel on a scorchingly hot summer day, I smile.

When I wake up before the dawn and find my dad secretly watching me with a loving smile, I smile.

When I see many toy animals and a toy mirror hanging from above making funny cluttering noises, I smile.

When I succeed in sucking water from the straw for the first time in my life and my mom seems to be happy, I smile.

When the whole family take a group photo with me and I never smile during the photo shooting and after everybody gives up on my smily face, I smile.

When I see my dad's sad face feeling depressed that he has to go back to work next week and he is worried that he cannot play with me as much as he did during his parental leave, I smile.

I smile for him.

To be continued…
