Letter No. 46 Teething
Well yesterday, I wrote a Boo Boo Letter piece about Bubu having recently acquired a new funny face.
When he does that face, he tucks in his chin, crushes his eyes and nose and puckers his lips, making his face look like a salted pickled plum. So I described yesterday.
Turns out he's not doing it out of his sense of humor.
According to our moms, or two of Bubu's grandmas, it appears he is doing the face to sooth his discomfort caused by “teething”.
Unlike adults, who gradually lose our teeth as we age, babies grow their teeth one by one, starting from bottom incisors or bottom front teeth.
Here are some useful information the NHS of the UK government has provided to the public:
"Baby teeth sometimes emerge with no pain or discomfort at all.
At other times, you may notice:
their gum is sore and red where the tooth is coming through
they have a mild temperature of less than 38C
they have 1 flushed cheek
they have a rash on their face
they're rubbing their ear
they're dribbling more than usual
they're gnawing and chewing on things a lot
they're more fretful than usual
they're not sleeping very well"

Umm, we can check most of the boxes for symptoms of Bubu.
I've been especially wondering why he has been scratching his ears recently.
I’m addition, he has also developed some rashes on his face; he dribbles A LOT; and he gnaws, chews, get fretful often, and is increasingly hard to fall asleep.
After discovering that he might be cutting his first teeth, we started to brush his teeth every morning.
I’m fact, he's in love with it!
When I put the brush in his mouth, he gets so happy with a bright smile on his face.
At first we thought he simply loves brushing his teeth,
but it turns out he just feels comfy when the brush touches his lower gum as it alleviates the itchiness.
Bubu, grow more teeth!
And you'll be able to eat a range of toothsome delectables in this world!
To be continued...
